Maciel Cruz, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a bilingual optometrist at New York Ophthalmology. She provides full scope optometry services, including eye disease management and treatment, and dry eye disease treatment. She’s passionate about providing exceptional eye care for her patients in the New York area.
Education & Experience
Dr. Cruz achieved her Bachelor of Science from the University of South Florida and then earned her Doctor of Optometry from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Services University. She finished her residency in hospital-based primary care optometry and ocular disease at the Orlando Veterans Affairs Medical Center, managing anterior segment disease, retinol pathology, glaucoma, and urgent care. After her residency, she completed her fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.

Dr. Cruz is a member of the American Optometric Association. She has presented at a number of academic meetings and given Council on Optometric Practitioner Education-approved lectures. She also offers volunteer services by providing eye care in the Dominican Republic.
